Obituary for Roger Joseph Johnson

Roger Johnson

Of Waltham, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017 after a lengthy illness at the Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. He was 76.

Born and raised in Acadieville, New Brunswick, Canada to his loving parents Virgine (Doiron) and the late Adolphe Johnson. He was the eldest of 14 children, all of them are living in New Brunswick, Canada. Mr. Johnson moved from Canada to Waltham in 1961 and has been a resident ever since.

Roger worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator with several local companies most notably with Flett Corporation in Belmont and R.J. Cincotta Construction in Waltham.

In his spare time he enjoyed golfing, playing cards at the French American Victory Club, and most of all spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

Besides his mother and brothers and sisters, Roger is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years Corinne (Aucoin) Johnson, his devoted sons Wayne Johnson and his wife Sonya (Bennett) of Maine and Randy Johnson and his wife Vanessa (San Juan) of Waltham, his sister-in-law Elizabeth Cameron of Waltham, and his cherished grandchildren Lindsey, Matthew, Patrick, and Michael. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend funeral services from Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Monday, Nov. 13, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Roger's life at St. Charles Church, 51 Hall St., Waltham at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 2-6 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
