Alice Hu Yee Poo passed away peacefully on November 4, 2017 at the age of 91. Born to great wealth and privilege in China, Alice was University educated in Finance & Banking. She was an accomplished young adult and lived a very happy and fulfilling life. The political upheaval in China during 1949 unilaterally altered and impoverished Alice’s entire family through confiscation. Alice later moved to the United States when she married Mr. James Wong of Newport, RI. After having three children, Alice was later diagnosed with a medical condition in her mid 30’s that institutionalized her for many years. Alice’s third child, William Wong, the youngest of her three children, passed away in 2005. She is survived by her other two children, Barbara Wong and James Wong, Jr. , her grandchildren, Jacqueline Wong and Dr. James Wong III, and her great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Marius and Theodore. Alice is also survived by her younger sisters, Yick Yu and Hana, her younger brother, Jing On, along with many nieces (Daisy, Esther, et al) and nephews (Jerry, Morgan, Quentin, Hing, et al). Funeral services were private.
