Dimitrios Korikis

Of Waltham, passed away Monday, November 6, 2017 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was 72.

Born and raised in Patra, Greece to the late Socrates and Elpida Korikis, he moved to the United States in the 70's spending some time in Somerville and Watertown before settling in Waltham.

Mr. Korikis received his Bachelor's Degree in accounting and worked as an accountant while still living in Greece. He also served in the Greek army patrolling the border with Turkey. After moving to the United States Dimitrios opened the Rendezvous Restaurant and Lounge in Waltham, which he operated for over 30 years.

In his spare time Dimitrios loved to follow sports, especially the Boston Celtics and the Greek National Soccer team. He loved to travel to Europe, Australia, and back home to Greece to visit his childhood friends.

He is survived by his loving wife Laura (Mahoney) Korikis of Waltham his sisters Litza Korikis of Canton and Nia Rekas and her husband Jimmy of Australia, his sister-in-law Kiki Korikis of Cambridge, his nephew Alex Korikis of Cambridge, and his nieces Jane Stavrinovdis and her husband John of Australia, Virginia Valiovis and her husband Dr. Ivan Valiovis of Austrailia, and Elle Kirgianis
and her husband Costa of Greece. He is also survived by his dogs Atlas and Appollo.
