Obituary for Pauline LaCava (McDonald)

Of Waltham, passed away Friday morning October 13th, 2017 in the Newton – Wellesley Hospital after a long illness at the age of 90.

Born on March 8, 1927 in Waltham; daughter of the late Edward and Catherine (Butler) McDonald, Pauline was a lifelong resident of Waltham.

A graduate of Saint Charles Borromeo High School with the Class of 1943, Pauline was employed at Valle's Steakhouse on Route #9 in Newton as a Head Cashier for over 10 years and with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Newton District Court as an Administrative Assistant to the Clerk-Magistrate for over 25 years.
 
Pauline's central focus in life was her family. She enjoyed shopping with family & friends, playing bingo and her frequent trips to Foxwoods. 

Beloved wife of the late Anthony J. "Rags" LaCava Sr.  

Pauline is survived by her loving & devoted children Janice LaCava of Derry, NH, Bud LaCava and his wife Linda of Waltham, and Loyce Catanzaro and her husband Joseph of Holliston, her cherished granddaughters Rhonda Hanley and her husband Jack, Kara LaCava and her husband DJ Murray, Jenna and Dana LaCava, Kelsey and Michaela Catanzaro, her great grandchildren Toni and Halie Dupell, Tyler Hanley, step-grandsons Robert and Mark Byrne, great great grandson Bennett Boreson, her dear sister-in-laws Connie Richards and her husband Ray , Theresa LaCava and Mary LaCava all of Waltham, and Jenny McDonald of Billerica. In addition she is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Beloved mother of the late Raymond “Roy” LaCava, Linda Ahlman and her husband the late Rocky Alhman, and dear sister of the late Edward McDonald, James McDonald, Rose Purchase and Ralph McDonald. 

Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Pauline’s Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Saturday morning Oct. 21st at 10:00 a.m. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons on Friday Oct. 20th from 4 – 8 p.m. and on Saturday morning prior to the service from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Pauline’s memory to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box #50, Memphis, TN. 38101-0050
