Obituary for Wayne David Kaupelis

g Of Waltham, passed away Friday October 13th, 2017 with his loving family by his side in the Newton - Wellesley Hospital at the age of 70.

Born on September 3, 1947 in Boston; son of the late John A. Kaupelis and Maryanne "Eva" (Gosselin) Kaupelis, Wayne was a lifelong resident of Waltham.

Wayne had been employed with the City of Waltham School Department as a Custodian at the Waltham High School and the Henry Whittemore Elementary School throughout his career.

He was a sports fanatic and loved to follow all Boston sports teams, especially the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriot's. He coached Mickey Mantle baseball for many years. He loved doing it and over the years so many of his former players would share their memories of him or ask how he was doing.

Wayne was an adventurous person as a young man, who enjoyed traveling throughout the country. He had a passion for music especially Bob Seger, playing the harmonica, throwing darts, playing cribbage, going to the movies and taking photography.

He is survived by his lovin wife Vincie (Collura) Kaupelis, his devoted & loving children Ann Theresa DeBarros and her husband Stephen of Gardner, Vanessa Ann Kaupelis and her fiance' Michael Hale of Bellingham, Jessica Felton of Waltham, Jarrett John Kaupelis and his companion Corrine Collette of Waltham, Sarah Jean Sloan and her husband Charles of Waltham, and Shaina Kristen Kalil and her husband Sean of Malden, his cherished grandchildren Kara Karisa, Carina Catino, Ashleigh, Kiara DeBarros, Taylor and Katherine Canale, Matthew, Brooke, and Scarlett Hale, Alexandra, Nathanial, Jacob and Logan Felton, Steven Towle, Alexa and Erica Kaupelis, Julia, Jayden, and Josephine Sloan, Tyler and Ryan Kalil, his adoring great grandchildren Kayleanna and Adrianna Williams, and Daniel Rufino Neto, and his dear siblings Richard "Butchy" Kaupelis of Florida, Ralph Kaupelis of Boston, Robert "Bobby" Kaupelis of Arizona, and Cindy Kaupelis and her loving companion Wayne Hesseltine of Maine. In addition he is survived by many cousins, nieces & nephews.

Wayne was predeceased by his dear brothers Douglas, Gary, Edward and Kenneth Kaupelis.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services in celebration of Wayne’s Life from the Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Friday morning Oct. 20th at 9:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting Hours will be held in the Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday Oct. 19th from 4 – 8 p.m. Parking attendants on duty.
