Of Waltham, passed away Wednesday October 4th, 2017 surrounded by his loving family in his residence at the age of 69 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on March 19, 1948 in Waltham; son of the late Albert Caramanica and Ruth (Cushing) Caramanica, Al was a lifelong resident of Waltham.

A graduate of Waltham High School with the Class of 1965, Al furthered his education graduating from Mass College of Art with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts. He was employed as an Illustrator and Art Director with the THD Corporation in Lexington.

He proudly served with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Al loved life and lived it to the fullest. He enjoyed playing the guitar, collecting guns and knives, dining out, cooking, going to the movies and exercising. He had a passion for the Fine Arts and for a period of time had his own comic strip.

He was a Lifelong member of the Musketaquid Sportsman Club in Concord.

Al is survived by his devoted & loving children Melissa Caramanica of Somerville, Anthony M. Caramanica and Adam M. Caramanica both of Waltham, his dear siblings John R. Caramanica and his wife Piper of Chelmsford, Mark S. Caramanica and his wife Elaine of Waltham, and Brian T. Caramanica of Norwood. In addition he is survived by his former wife Ruth (Miller) Caramanica as well as many nieces & nephews.

He was predeceased by his dear brother Daniel Caramanica.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Albert’s Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Thursday morning Oct. 12th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow with United States Air Force Military Honors at Calvary Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons on Thursday morning prior to the Funeral Service from 10 – 11 a.m. Parking attendants on duty.
