Obituary for Jeanine Toussaint

Jeanine Toussaint, 83, of Waltham, Massachusetts, passed away, Sunday, October 1, 2017, at Wingate Rehabilitation located in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, after a long battle with cancer.

Miss Toussaint was born on September 16, 1934 in Limonade, Cap-Haitian, Haiti to Adelle and St Armand Toussaint. She accomplished many great things throughout her life. She was able to complete high school, raise four sons and made tremendous sacrifices to see them ultimately succeed in their own lives. She had an unwavering faith and courage. She enjoyed singing religious hymns for her sons and relatives. She was a prayer warrior who never ceased to pray for her loved ones.

We pay tribute to our mother, Jeanine, the most extraordinarily selfless individual who was very sensitive and concerned with the needs of others. She exemplified the pillar of strength and love that bind our family. She will be sorely missed.

She is survived by her beloved sons: Yves Champagne of Florida, Jean Remy Toussaint of Waltham, Massachusetts, and Harold Toussaint of New York; her sisters Yolette and Ruth Toussaint, both of Haiti, and Marie Lourdes Toussaint of Randolph , Massachusetts; and her cherished grandchildren Randy, Jamie, Jaden, Daphne, and Lea. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews: Nirva Berthold Lafontant, Jeannie Simeus, Mindy Simeus, Margarette Lazarre, Cathelie Menelas, Bernardin Simeus, Bayard Cherrenfant, Berince Toussaint, and Wendell Toussaint.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Jeanine's life at Sacred Heart Church, 311 River St., Waltham, Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 10 a.m. Interment will be Private.
