Gerard J. Cormier

Of Littleton formerly of Waltham, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester. He was 67.

Born in Waltham to the late Joseph and Rita (Bourque) Cormier, he was raised in both Waltham and Westford, and was a graduate of Westford Academy. He earned his Associate's Degree from Middlesex Community College.

Mr. Cormier served his country honorably in the United States Army during The Viet Nam War. He served in the Military Police and was awarded the National Defense Service Metal, the Viet Nam Service Medal, the Viet Nam Campaign Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.

After leaving the Army Mr. Cormier became a Waltham Police Officer. He served the Waltham community for over 25 years and retired as a detective.

He was a member of the Waltham Elks and the Waltham V. F.W.

In his spare time Gerard enjoyed boating, fishing, and camping on his beloved Lake Winnesquam in Tilton, NH. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and grandkids, and missed his beloved wife Deborah M. (Bennett) dearly.

He is survived by his loving sons Jerome Cormier and his wife Cheryl (DesRoches) of Littleton and Jason Cormier and his wife Lisa (Jamer) of Shirley, his aunt Bernadette Bourque of Waltham, and his cherished granddaughters Courtney, Felicia, and Valerie. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Claudette LeBlanc, and Ricky and Billy Cormier.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Friday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
