Obituary for Barbara A. Driscoll (McManus)

Of Leominster & Rutland, MA formerly of Waltham, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning September 3rd, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at her daughters campground in Rutland at the age of 81.  She found peace and comfort through the years at her daughters campground in Rutland. 

Born on August 6, 1936 in Arlington; daughter of the late William McManus and Florence (Lightburn) McManus, Barbara was raised in Arlington and began to her raise her family in the Dorchester section of Boston before moving to Waltham for over 40 years. She has resided with her daughter in Leominster and Rutland for the past 6 years. 

A graduate of Arlington High School, Barbara was employed as a Bus driver throughout her life. She worked for Central Square Taxi & Bus Company in Waltham for many years. 
Her central focus in life was her family, she cherished her role as wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed the time spent with family & friends. She loved the time spent in Rutland camping, she enjoyed buggy rides, going dancing at "Forty's" and watching live music. Barbara liked doing puzzles, playing bingo & cards, and spending time on the computer with friends. 

Barbara spent a lot of time with her late husband as members of the Waltham Loyal Order of Moose Lodge on Spruce Street.   

Beloved wife of the late Hilary Michael Driscoll Jr.

She is survived by her devoted & loving children Stella Driscoll-Gains of Waltham, Donna Marie Benson of Leominster, Deborah Jean Burke of Whitinsville,  Michael Hilary Driscoll of New York, Cathalene Marie Panno of New Hampshire, Amanda Hall of Florida and Robert Driscoll of Belmont In addition she is survived by 28 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.

Barbara was predeceased by her loving children Barbara Ann Robards, William Driscoll, Steven Driscoll and Thomas Driscoll, and her dear sisters Milly, Charlotte and Ethel.   

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Barbara’s Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Friday morning Sept. 8th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Massachusetts Veterans National Cemetery in Bourne at 2:15 p.m. Visiting Hours will be held in the Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday Sept. 7th from 4 - 8 p.m. Parking attendants on duty.
