Of Waltham, passed away unexpectedly Friday July 14th, 2017 at the age of 51.
Born on August 11, 1965 in Waltham; beloved son of Liberato Santiago Vega and Carmen I. Rivas Ortiz both of Puerto Rico, Jeff lived most of his life in Waltham and for a short period of time in Puerto Rico.
A jack of all trades Jeff was a talented and gifted Carpenter; he spent his life working in the construction industry and most of that time with Demeo General Contracting.
He had a love for the beach and going fishing especially at Woods Hole in Falmouth. He had a great sense of humor, and had a love for all animals namely especially dogs his best buddy Sammy, Izzy and Bailey. Jeff was a passionate hockey fan, he enjoyed following the Boston Bruins and watching his nieces & nephews play. Family was always a central focus of his life and he enjoyed all the time spent with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents Liberato and Carmen, Jeff is survived by his loving companion of 30 years Donna Bourque, adored daughter Jessica Santiago and her mother Sonia Melendez of California, 3 cherished grandchildren, his devoted siblings Plymouth Firefighter Jose Santiago and his wife Sandy of Buzzards Bay, Jimmy Santiago and his wife Kathy of Ayer, (Ret.) Waltham Firefighter Gerry Santiago of Waltham, Ruth Lahey and her husband Bill of Sudbury, Nelly McPhail and her husband Jerry of Framingham, Zulma Conners and her husband the late Paul of South Carolina, (Ret.) Watertown Firefighter Edward Santiago of Middleboro, Steve Santiago of Florida and the late Liberato "Libby" Santiago, his dear sisters-in-law Gail, Donna and Wilda, many aunts, uncles, cousins, numerous nieces & nephews and close friends.
Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Jeffrey’s Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM, MA on Friday July 21st, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held PRIVATE for his family immediately following the service at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons on Thursday July 20th from 4 - 8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
