Phil loved the sun and going to the beach. He enjoyed walks by the ocean along Castle Island in South Boston and Kings Beach in Swampscott. In his spare time he liked to go for bicycle rides, read and write poetry, play the Clarinet and Alto Sax, go to the public library and read Charles Dickens.

He had a strong faith in his God, it was an important part of his life. Phil was an active & devoted member of Mary Immaculate Lourdes Parish in Newton where he was a Lector, taught CCD and was a Eucharistic Minister.
