Chris Magnuson
Robbie, I wanted to send along our condolences from the entire Magnuson family. After seeing you the other day at your Dad's service I could not help but remember all the youth hockey games and little league games as we were growing up in Sudbury...and how much of an impact your dad had on my life. I remember like yesterday walking into a locker room at Natick rink 1 and there were jackets hanging up for every player with our name and number on them and that was your dad just surprising all of us. He coached me in little league all through senior major and Babe Ruth league...and I loved every game he coached me mostly because I knew I'd be able to pitch that day! His sense of humor and wit were in a class by itself. And later as I grew older and worked for the Highway Dept in Sudbury I would see him at least 2-3 times a week at Friendly's and without fail he would pay for my coffee and whatever I got. I honestly tried to figure out a way I could pay for him but he always managed to get it paid before I even knew he was there sometimes. It was really awesome. I had a lot of really cool talks with him back in those days and I really just felt compelled to share with you because i'm not sure how much you ever knew how much your dad meant to not only me but all of us who were lucky enough to have been coached by him, been a friend of his or just lucky enough to been the recipient of a cup of coffee from him. So sorry for your loss and remember that it's the impact you make on other peoples lives that really matter and your dad is proof positive of that for me. you and your family are in my prayers...
