Obituary for Robert Daniel McCart

Robert Daniel  McCart
Of Lincoln, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family early Thursday morning June 8th, 2017 in his home at the age of 81.

Born on February 28, 1936 in South Boston; son of the late William and Gertrude (Cunniff) McCart, Bob lived in South Boston until the age of 9 when he moved to Lincoln. Bob married Rose Marie Rando in 1959 and in 1963 they moved to East Street in Sudbury where they raised their four children.

A graduate of Concord High School with the Class of 1955, Bob owned and operated an excavation and general contracting business throughout his life. He began in the construction industry in 1953 at the age of 17 and established R.D. McCart Construction Company in 1956; he operated the business successfully until earlier this year.

Bob was known for his quick wit and his kind and generous spirit.  

He was a big sports fan and had coached Sudbury Little League Baseball and Sudbury Youth Hockey for over 25 years and will forever be remembered as coach. 

Bob was a member of the Waltham Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus.

Bob loved the ocean, fishing, travel and music; but above all, his greatest love was his family & friends.

Beloved husband of the late Rose Marie (Rando) McCart and loving father of the late William Paul McCart. 

He is survived by his devoted & loving children Charlene Jackson and her husband James Jackson of Sudbury, Robert Daniel McCart Jr. and his wife Patricia McCart of Sudbury and DeAnna Bisson and her husband Paul Bisson of Sudbury, his cherished grandchildren Robert D. McCart III, Chantal McCart Balben and her husband Kevin Balben, William Shane McCart, Julia Rose McCart, Christina Marie Jackson, Victoria Rose Jackson, Alexandra Rose Bisson, Joseph John Bisson, Shayna Marie Bisson, Michael William Bisson, and his adoring great grandson Jackson Wesley Balben, his dear siblings Maryanne Perkins of Virginia, Deborah Kline of Worcester, James McCart of New Hampshire, and Kathy Bumgardner of Illinois, his loving in laws Anthony and  Lucy Cotoia of Lincoln and Charles and Jean Stankard of Lincoln, his dear companion for the past 13 years Patricia Whalen and her family, and Danny Scirocco who had worked beside him for 27 years and was loved like a son. In addition he is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.   

Dear brother of the late William, Paul, John, Norman, and Jerry McCart and brother-in-law of Adeline MacKenzie, Josephine Shaw and Felice Rando .

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services in celebration of Robert's Life from the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Wednesday morning June 14th at 9:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 160 Concord Road, SUDBURY at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Lincoln Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons on Tuesday June 13th from 4 - 8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
