Obituary for Rosemarie Mele (Masulla)

Rosemarie  Mele (Masulla)
Of Waltham, passed away peacefully Thursday evening May 25th, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston at the age of 70.

Born on February 4, 1947 in Waltham; daughter of the late Alfred and Marion (Martineau) Masulla, Rosemarie was a lifelong resident of Waltham.

A graduate of Saint Mary's High School Class of 1965, Rosemarie was employed with the City of Waltham School Department as a Cafeteria Worker for over 10 years. For years she had worked as a Chef at the Waltham Vocational High School preparing meals for the elderly. On her own for many years she also worked out of her home as a Seamstress.

Rosemarie was devoted to her faith and had been an active member of the Sacred Heart Church Parish Community; teaching religious education and a member of several different church groups. She was a Past President of the Regina Margherita Di Savoia #1094 Sons Of Italy Lodge in Waltham.

After the death of her beloved husband Antonio in 1979, Rosemarie focused her life around raising her 5 young children and it became the most important aspect of her life. After her retirement from The City of Waltham she loved spending time with family especially her granddaughters. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, playing scrabble, and traveling to Foxwoods, Las Vegas and Cape Cod with family & friends.

Beloved wife of the late Antonio Mele, loving mother of the late John Anthony Mele and dear sister of the late Gloria Parker.

Rosemarie is survived by her devoted & loving children Antonio "Tony” Mele and his wife Tammy of Norwood, Rosalie "Rose" Martin and her husband Chris of Waltham, Lisa Simmons and her husband Eric of Waltham, and Joseph "Joe" Mele and his wife Susan of Waltham, her cherished grandchildren Christina and Lauren Martin & Juliana and Angela Simmons, and sisters Roberta Masulla Wilson of Long Island, NY and Dianne Masulla of Watertown. In addition she is survived by many nieces, nephews and numerous beloved friends.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services in celebration of Rosemarie's Life from the Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM, on Wednesday morning May 31st at 9:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting hours will be held in the Funeral home on Tuesday May 30th from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
