Of Belmont, age 89, beloved wife of the late Evagrio Mosca, passed away peacefully Friday evening August 18th, 2017 with loving family by her side at the Meadow Green Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Waltham.
Born on February 26, 1928 in Bremen, Germany; daughter of the late Hermann and Marie (Schutte) Thie, Ursula immigrated to the United States in September of 1949. She lived for several years in Watertown before moving to Waltham and has resided in Belmont for the past 64 years.
Ursula attended schools in Germany and had been employed for most of her life as a Bookkeeper. She worked at Roberts Pharmacy, Corbett Drug Store and had been employed as a Clerk at Greer Seafood. For several years she worked with a design company and had decorated the windows for Filene's Department Store in downtown crossing in Boston.
When her children were young she had been a Cub Scout Leader. She loved flowers, enjoyed reading, crocheting, and knitting. Through the years, wherever she was living, Ursula looked out for and took care of her neighbors.
She is survived by her loving and devoted children Evagrio Mosca and his wife Catherine of Lunenburg; Jean Whittier and her husband Paul of East Brookfield; John J. Mosca and his wife Bethany of Carlisle; and Paul Mosca and his wife Andrea of Stoneham, In addition, she is survived by her dear sister Brunhilde Dittmer of Bremen, Germany, her 10 cherished grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and her extended family.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham, on Thursday morning Aug. 24th at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Saint Patrick’s Cemetery in Watertown. Visiting Hours will be held in the Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday Aug. 23rd from 4 – 7 p.m.
