Of Belmont passed away Friday, March 3, 2017 at the Wingate at Belvidere Nursing Home in Lowell. He was 95.
Born and raised in South Boston to the late Adolph and Clotilde (Bazzinotti) Cura, he moved to Belmont in 1954 where he has been a resident ever since.
Mr. Cura was a self employed restaurateur who owned and operated the Mt. Auburn Grill until selling in 1979. After selling the restaurant, Aldo worked at Linco Tool in Watertown until his retirement.
In his spare time, Aldo was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a cigar aficionado and could be seen smoking a cigar daily well into his nineties. Most of all he loved being with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was the beloved husband of the late Mary (Jordan) Cura, father of the late Richard A. Cura, grandfather of the late Ian D. Cura, and brother of the late John, Jerome and Eva Cura.
He is survived by his loving children Joseph A. Cura and his wife Marie (Nicosia) Cura of Nashua, Judith A. (Cura) Schwab and her husband Charles of Belmont, and Christine M. Cura of Belmont, his brothers Frank J. Cura of Arlington, and Dr. Adolph A. Cura of Waltham, and his sister Mary A. Cura of Arlington. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend funeral services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 325 Trapelo Rd., BELMONT, Wednesday at 8 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Aldo's life at Sacred Heart Church, 770 Mt. Auburn St., Watertown, at 9 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Watertown. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, from 4-8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
