Obituary for James A. "Jim" Ruggeri

Of Wilmington, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon May 22nd, 2016 surrounded by his loving family at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington at the age of 59.

Born on October 7, 1956 in Somerville; Beloved son of the late Gaetano “Guy” Ruggeri and Jennie (Foti) Ruggeri, Jim was raised in Belmont and has been a resident of Wilmington for the past 35 years.

Jim was a graduate of Belmont High School with the Class of 1974 and furthered his education at Wentworth Institute graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

In his professional career Jim was employed as a Software Engineer with the GCA Corporation and Applied Materials of Gloucester.

Jim was an avid fisherman and a boating fanatic. He was a member of the East Boston Yacht Club and the Winthrop Lodge of Elks B.P.OE. #1078. In his spare time Jim enjoyed being a true handyman and jack of all trades with carpentry, remodeling, or painting. He even enjoyed cooking.

He is survived by his loving & devoted sisters Mary Jayne Suchy and her husband Albert of Reading and Anne M. Arsenault and her husband Kenneth of Burlington, his cherished nieces & nephews Kathryn A. David Perkins, Daniel and Elizabeth Suchy, Matthew, Peter and Molly Arsenault, Brenda and Mark Whelan. In addition he is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and his dear friend Vincent Whelan.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours in celebration of Jim’s Life in the Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapel, 325 Trapelo Road, BELMONT on Tuesday May 24th from 4 – 8 p.m.

A private burial with his parents will be held for the family at Saint Patrick’s Cemetery in Watertown.
