Of Waltham, 78, passed away Friday, January 29, 2016. He leaves his daughters Candice Walsh; Valerie Sullivan and her husband, Shawn Sullivan; Sara Bonica and her husband, Jon Bonica; his two beautiful granddaughters Madeline Sullivan and Nora Bonica; his dear sister Vivian Walsh; his beloved Susan Barker and her daughters Stacey Surenian, Elizabeth Barker; Amanda Barker; and their children Emma, Theodore, Benjamin and Basil John.
Born in Jamaica Plain, Russ grew up in and around the Boston area before settling in Waltham to raise his family. He spent thirty plus years employed at the Gifford School in Weston before retiring in 2005. Russ was the person you could count on the most when you needed any kind of help. Whether it was getting you some gas because you ran out down the street or just needed someone to listen, Russ was there, always. Those who knew and loved him will miss him greatly.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 6th at 2:00 pm at Trinity Covenant Church, 7 Clematis Road in Lexington, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to The Gifford School, 177 Boston Post Road, Weston, MA 02493, www.gifford.org.
