Of Waltham formerly of Roxbury, entered eternal rest & peace early Monday morning November 23rd, 2015 surrounded by loving family in his home at the age of 58.
Born on January 28, 1957 in Boston; son of the late Hiawatha Abernathy and Ruth Mae Kimbrough was raised in the Roxbury section of Boston and has been a Waltham resident for the past 15 years.
A graduate of Fisher Junior College with an Associate’s Degree, Lawrence was employed with Warren, Gorham & Lamont Publishing, Pemberton Security as a Manager and most recently was employed with John Hancock Life Insurance Company as an Underwriter.
Lawrence is survived by his loving & devoted children Candice Boyd of Boston and Brandon Alfonso Kimbrough of Waltham, his cherished grandchildren Tyreke Boyd and Julian Rice, and his dear siblings Anna Fuller of Randolph, Annie Abernathy of Cambridge, Robin Abernathy of Randolph and Franklin Abernathy of Boston. In addition he was adoring father like figure to Derrick Boyd and is survived by numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews and close friends.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Lawrence’s Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Friday Dec. 4th at 4:00 p.m. Visiting Hours will be held prior to the service in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons from 2 - 4 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
