Obituary for Chacko Idiculla

Chacko Idiculla
Pastor Chacko Idiculla (89 years), former Senior pastor of IPC Zion Church, Punalur and Boston Christian Assembly, Boston was promoted to glory on August 28, 2015.

He was born on September 8, 1926, in Adoor, Kerala as the eldest son of (late) Idiculla Chacko of Charuparampil House and Sosamma Chacko of Chittundayil House. Pastor Idiculla became a born-again Christian at the age of 25, growing daily in his faith as he loved and served His Lord. He accepted Jesus Christ in 1951 and was baptized in 1952. He was filled with the Holy Spirit in 1953. He was not only a faithful Christian, but a committed Bible teacher, and a passionate evangelist. In 1956, he graduated from Bethel Bible College (AG), Punalur. During this period, senior leaders of IPC Church prayerfully separated him for missionary work.

Pastor Idiculla was joined in holy matrimony to Aleyamma in 1953 of Kuthukallingal house (Konny) in Manakala Adoor. Kerala.

He pioneered and pastored several churches in the IPC Punalur district such as Narikal, Tholikode , Punnala, Alimukku, Placherry, Karavaloor and Vanmala. He has served the IPC Church for over 60 years, especially as one of the founding leaders of the PYPA and the Sunday School Association and has also held various positions including the District Secretary and Vice President of the IPC Punalur District.

Pastor Idiculla is survived by his beloved wife Aleyamma of 79 years, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many other relatives and friends who have loved him and enjoyed the warmth of his love and fellowship. His children are Prof. Salomey George and her husband Prof. TM George (Trivandrum), Pastor Bethel Idiculla Johnson and his wife Susan, Pastor Bethel Samuel and his wife Jancy (Dallas), Dr. Thomas Idiculla and his wife Suja (Boston), Dr. Elizabeth and her husband Idiculla Alexander (Boston), Jacob Mathew and his wife Lijy (Boston) and Dr. Sheba and her husband Presley Paul (Tampa).

Pastor Idiculla has one brother (late) Pastor Chacko Mathai, and five sisters, Kunjamma (late), Ponnamma, Thankamma, Rachel, and Ammini (late). He was confident throughout his life that one day he would enter into everlasting peace with his Lord Jesus Christ. As he passed through the later phase of his life, the hope he had in his earlier days continued to grow with vigor inside of him. While the family grieves their dear Papa’s passing, their sorrow comes with the confidence that he is in heaven and that they will see him again. His life's motto is taken from Proverbs 22:4- “By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honor, and life”.
