Of Natick, passed away peacefully Monday morning January 12th, 2015 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston at the age of 63.
Born on June 2, 1951 in Brookline; beloved daughter of the late Mary (Ronan) Gleason, Maureen was raised in Brookline and lived for a period of time in Brockton before moving to Natick where she resided for most of her life.
Maureen was a graduate of Brookline High School with the Class of 1970 as well as the Carol Nash Beauty School in Boston. Her love of flowers lured her into a career as a Florist for 24 years.
Family was the most important aspect of Maureen’s life. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother to her husband & children. She loved life and had a light hearted sense of humor. Maureen was creative and artistic, she enjoyed activities such as gardening and traveling with the late Linda Visco and Jimmy Visco. Aruba was her favorite place to go.
Maureen is survived by her loving and cherished husband of 40 years Robert P. Vaglica, her devoted son Sean Paul Vaglica and his wife Michelle of Natick, her siblings William Gleason of Chestnut Hill and Mark Gleason of Natick. In addition she is survived by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces & nephews.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services from the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Friday morning Jan. 16th at 9:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Maureen’s Life at Saint Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Saint Patrick’s Cemetery in Natick. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel on Thursday Jan. 15th from 4 – 8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
