Of Waltham, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning February 4th, 2012 surrounded by her loving family at the Kindred Northeast Specialty Hospital in Waltham at the age of 74.
Born in Marsala, Sicily on November 29, 1937, daughter of the late Francesco and Rosa (Amato) Palmeri, and step daughter of the late Leonarda Palmeri.
She immigrated to the United States as a young woman in 1962 and settled in Waltham. Before her retirement, she worked at Standard Thompson for 20 years.
Family was the most important part of her life and in her spare time she enjoyed dancing and also cooking for her family.
She was predeceased by brothers, Sedoro and Stefano Palmeri, both of Marsala Sicily.
She is survived by her loving children Jackie DiDuca and her husband Michael of Framingham, Frank Aniello of California, Rosalba Aniello of Arlington, and Marco Aniello of Florida, her cherished grandsons Francesco DiDuca and Stephen Best, her dear sisters Giovanna , Antonetta , Angelina and Giacoma, and also by her sister in laws Giovanna and Piera Palmieri all of Marsala, Sicily. In addition she is survived by many nieces & nephews.
Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapels, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Friday morning Feb. 10th at 9:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Margherita's Life at Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery Chapel Mausoleum. Visiting Hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday Feb. 9th from 4 - 8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
